grapes of wrath (asc)

"Mia Wurgaft as Ma Joad is gaunt, haunted, and truly haunting. Her stoicism and determination draw you in...her mere presence gives the action an extra layer of desperation that words cannot express." - Andrew Walker Wright DC Metro Theatre Arts

"a true ensemble piece, one whose total theatrical effect is far in excess of the sum of its admirable parts..." - Terry Teachout Wall Street Journal

"...the outstanding performance of Wurgaft as Ma Joad — a meaty role to which Wurgaft gives full measure...Like many other fine actors, Wurgaft shows much of her character by what she does when she’s not talking." - Tim Treanor DC Theatre Scene
